The Lovebirds is an upcoming Comedy film directed by Michael Showalter and written by Aaron Abrams "The Lovebirds" This is a somewhat quiet week for Netflix, with no major tent franchises coming back with new seasons, but there are some interesting additions. Michael Showalter is behind some of my favorite TV shows and movies from the past two decades, including Wet Hot American Summer and The Big Sick, and his new movie The Lovebirds will premiere on Netflix this week. We are also getting the first new Patton Oswalt special standup in three years.
The Lovebirds film tells the story of a couple who are going through a crucial moment in their relationship when they are involved in a confusing murder. Their odyssey to stay away from all danger will lead them to a series of extreme circumstances as they try to discover how they, and their relationship, can survive the night. The Indian actor is one of the fashion names in the industry after his signing for Marvel, and now we will see him in his most comical version in this film, which has been directed by Michael Showalter ('Hello, my name is Doris') and written by Aaron Abrams, Brendan Gall, and Martin Gero (Blindspot). In addition to this new advance, we have just learned through the actor's personal Twitter account that the film will be released on the platform on May 22.
Principal photography commenced on February 20, 2019 in Chicago, United States and concluded on June 4, 2019. The film is set for release on May 22, 2020.
